Jerusalem Peacemakers mission statement
Our mission is to contribute to peace, justice, reconciliation and a decent life for all people in the Holy Land.
Our method is to support people in Israel and Palestine who have taken it upon themselves to work for reconciliation and peace.
They are key people in the social 'peace process'. They are already active and in place, they know what to do and they're doing it.
These peacemakers have taken a personal initiative. Many of them grew up in mixed-community circumstances or knew people on 'the other side' when they were young. They believe that separated, conflicted communities, prejudice and injustice need to end, and they're doing something about it.
Peacemakers and reconciliation groups are over-stretched and under-supported. Jerusalem Peacemakers sets out to support them practically and bring their work into public view. We encourage peacemakers to support and work with each other.
We are setting up channels by which you can support peacemakers in the Holy Land. We want to help them progress. This work will continue when peace comes too the agenda will then switch to rebuilding communities, healing wounds and relieving shadows of the past.
Aid and support are a two-way circulation. Palestinians, Israelis and other residents of the Holy Land are in dire straits. Yet there is something deeply human in their experience. Meanwhile, people in the world's comfortable countries lack much of this deep, rich human contact. This is an interchange between people who are rich in different ways.
Jerusalem Peacemakers is a non-profit organisation and network based in Israel, Palestine, Britain, USA and other countries. This website is run from the historic pilgrimage town of Glastonbury, England a place with a special ancient connection with Jerusalem.

Jerusalem Peacemakers, a web-based aid project started in April 2004, was born out of a decade of work by CHN, which ran international healing conferences and supported humanitarians.
Jerusalem Peacemakers sets out to connect our friends in the Holy Land, all social healers and peacemakers, with people in the wider world.
Specific aims:
to provide information for the public, journalists and researchers worldwide
to back up peacemakers in their travels and communications
to create a channel of moral, practical and financial support
to create witnessing, dialogue and contact
We host sub-sites for Holy Land humanitarians and social healers.
Webmaster and editor is (Glastonbury, UK) with (Jerusalem). Editorial and overall supervision by and (Glastonbury), (California), , and (Jerusalem).
This project sets out to promote peace, sanity, just social relations and interfaith tolerance in the Holy Land, with no intention of obstructing governments, international bodies, NGOs or other organisations.
