Suzanne Keehn

President of CHN

I was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1938. My family moved to San Francisco in 1946, and I have lived in California ever since. I went to nine different schools and graduated from UCLA in 1959. I am married and have two sons, one living in Lithuania, and the other close by. He and his wife, who was born in Leon, Spain, have two little girls. They are such joy for my husband Daniel and I. We are blessed to be very involved with them and, because of that, the girls have two homes and four people who are crazy about them. I have also experienced that, as a grandmother even more than as a mother, all children become your children and the desire to care for and protect them all can be overwhelming. The sorrow and pain experienced when they are hurt, killed, made afraid and mutilated drives me and many others to do what we can to alleviate such pain and violence from our planet.

I went to many different schools and grew up interested in philosophy, religion and people. The one club I belonged to when I attended high school at Santa Monica High was the World Friendship Club, of which I became president. As I thought of this in later years, it amazed me how our destiny is a thread that, looking back, we can see, though at the time is not at all apparent.

I was lucky to be a stay-at-home mom and was very involved with my children's education; both boys went to Montessori schools in preparation for elementary school. I was in the PTA both in their elementary school and high school, heading up committees and organizing one of the senior graduation high school parties.

I always loved animals and for many years bred and showed Collies. In the 1980s I was Director of the Northern California Collie Club of America for four years. I organized events and built community in what was normally a competitive arena.

My main passion has been searching for the deeper truths to understand the meaning and purpose of Life. From the 1970s I attended many groups, seminars on many subjects and held meditation groups in my home for over twenty years. In 1979 I became a member of the Association for Research and Enlightenment, the non-profit organization that promotes the information in the Edgar Cayce Readings. I felt a deep sense of community and purpose with this organization. I became very active in the San Francisco Bay Area, being part of the volunteers that started study groups and put on various programs. In 1987 I spearheaded the Bay Area Inter-Council that linked the ARE councils in the area together, creating a more efficient team and building on the community that was there. In 1987 I began going to the yearly meeting in Virginia Beach, Virginia, for volunteer activists and by 1989 I was one of the Co-Directors of the Northern California and Nevada Region.

In this capacity, I traveled extensively, setting up programs, groups, supporting and linking communities, speaking and giving workshops. I worked with a co-director and the Northern California Team, made up of key people from the different areas. In 1989 the Bay Area Team created an Edgar Cayce Day at a local college that made use of the talents of the members. I worked in this position for four years. Through these many opportunities or stepping stones, as the Cayce readings called them, I felt that I was more able to trust in the moment, follow guidance through synchronistic events, and I began to feel that I was in the flow and manifesting my ‘Divine Plan'.

In 1992, with my previous experience and training, I with others started a new non-profit organization, Creative Health Network. From the beginning it was organic, growing out of the energy that had been generated by previous community-building activities, within ARE and another short-lived non-profit organization. Even the name was created through a process with a group of twelve people. We knew that our intention was to build, connect and foster community in various ways, in local groups and internationally. Eighteen of us traveled a month later to Glastonbury, England, and there we met Pam Perry and others, who started a sister group. We held a community meeting in Glastonbury before we left, inviting everyone we had connected with during our three-week stay. So from the beginning we have been linked with England and have worked together ever since. In 1997 Pam Perry became Vice-President of CHN.

Since 1992, CHN has been my main focus. Pam and I work very well together - in fact we have said throughout these twelve years that, with each other and with our teams, we have experienced a feeling of merged brains and hearts! CHN organized four international Healing Summits, working and collaborating with local teams and groups in California, England, Russia, Australia and Israel. I organized many tours, such as to Cornwall, England, Peru and Egypt, and two associated with the Summits.

I have always loved history, especially ancient history, the story of humankind on the Earth. The opportunities to travel to so many sacred and powerful sites with others on the same wavelength has been a blessing and has brought many opportunities for insights and healing for all who participated. Many years ago, in my 30s, a spiritual medium from England told me that I would go to England many times. I did not believe her at the time or even want to go - I wanted to go to Egypt! I did go to Egypt in 1979 and had amazing and life-changing experiences, but it has been England, especially Glastonbury, that has been my spiritual home. When I am there I truly feel and know that we live in many dimensions, not just one. I think I have traveled there over 25 times since my first visit in 1990.

The work and amazing international community that has been built over the past twelve years is helping to realize my dream of a world where people listen to one another with open hearts and minds. Where differences soften because the Oneness underneath all people is known and experienced. In this spirit, Heaven and Earth are melding as One. As we work and support our Jerusalem Peacemakers I know we are helping to make not just my dream but also the dream of many of us around the planet a reality.
