![]() CHN Jerusalem Conference 2001 |
CHN consists of a number of people from around the world who have come together over the last 12 years through their common passion for the planet and its inhabitants. People who have a ‘spiritual' base and an acceptance of all religions.
It began as a community project in Palo Alto, California, 1992, and grew out of the founding members' history with Edgar Cayce's Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE, Virginia Beach).
Its focus was taking an active interest in what we call 'creative health' believing creative health to be a state of wholeness and wellbeing among individuals, groups, organisations and communities, and that our common experience is continuously being created by our individual and collective choices.
Within weeks of CHN's inception as a religious non-profit organisation it became international. Eighteen of its founders travelled on a pilgrimage to Glastonbury, England, and met with many like-minded individuals who over the following years became more and more involved it the group's organic development.
CHN's first large international event was a USA/UK organised conference in Monterey, California, in 1997. The ‘Rainbow Bridge' that had been forming over the previous 5 years proved a powerful tool that produced a cross cultural event with 220 participants from 19 countries.
Over the next 4 years conferences were held in England, Siberia, Australia and Jerusalem. CHN's constituency was ever growing and enhancing through the addition of individuals from many backgrounds and faiths all with a common goal and passion.
The October 2001 gathering in Jerusalem clarified the fact that CHN's focus had become more and more that of peace both at the inner and outer level. The exceptional grassroots, interfaith individuals working for reconciliation in the Holy Land captured our hearts and minds our future direction was undoubtedly set.
Since early 2002 we have been bringing together humanitarians, healers and peacebuilders who have a common interest in the Middle East crisis. These are people who honour and respect each other differences and are willing to work together for a common goal.
CHN associates participate in a variety of community-focused activities to foster understanding, acceptance of others, and an inclusive vision of a world community.
Our constituency identifies with peace, the environment and the building of community both locally and internationally. We have become increasingly involved in bringing our spiritual ideals into practical and concrete action.
We are responding to the current crisis in the Middle East in the belief that it is not just a problem at the local level, but that peace is the responsibility of everyone.
